Core Pattern Rule: -(으)ㄹ 뿐만 아니라 (Not only... but also...)
This pattern connects two clauses to mean "not only A, but also B." It's used to add a second, related piece of information to the first one. The two facts are often both positive or both negative.

Common Combinations: Adding with -도
To make the "but also" meaning stronger and more natural, the particle -도 (also, too) is almost always added to the subject or object of the second clause.
Function of -도
While a sentence is grammatically correct without -도, including it emphasizes that the second fact is an addition to the first. It links the two ideas more smoothly.
Without -도: 비가 올 뿐만 아니라 바람이 불어. (Grammatical, but less common)
With -도: 비가 올 뿐만 아니라 바람도 불어. (Natural and emphatic)
Look for -도 in the example sentences. It highlights what new piece of information is being added.
늦었을 뿐만 아니라 지갑도 안 가져왔어. / 비가 올 뿐만 아니라 바람도 불어. / 공부를 잘할 뿐만 아니라 운동도 잘해. / 돈을 잃었을 뿐만 아니라 빚도 졌어.
