This policy describes how we handle personal data when you use Talkori.

1. Who we are

Talkori, represented by Juryong Kim, operates the Talkori learning service from 113-32, Beonyeong-ro, Umsa-myeon, Gyeryong-si, Chungcheongnam-do, Republic of Korea.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Talkori, we may process:

  • Account data: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers. Passwords are handled by the authentication service and are not stored by Talkori in plain text.
  • Service data: server-side bookmarks, entitlement status, and daily usage counters needed to provide the service and enforce plan limits.
  • Browser-stored learning data: study notes, lesson progress, quiz and playback preferences, guest bookmark identifiers, and similar data stored in your browser using local storage.
  • Payment metadata: Paddle transaction references and entitlement status. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Support data: name (if provided), email address, inquiry category, subject, message, locale, page URL, IP address, and user-agent information.

3. How we use information

We use personal data to create and secure accounts, provide learning and Premium features, enforce free and premium limits, respond to support inquiries, improve content, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Processors and sharing

We do not sell personal data. Service providers acting on our instructions include Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (application hosting), Bunny.net (media delivery), and Brevo (support email delivery and support communications). We share data with them only as needed to operate Talkori.

Paddle is an independent payment provider and Merchant of Record for purchases. Paddle processes billing information, taxes, receipts, refunds, and payment disputes under its own Buyer Terms and Privacy Notice.

5. Retention and security

We retain account and server-side service data while your account is active. You may request account deletion by contacting support. We generally delete or anonymize account and server-side service data within 30 days after a verified deletion request, unless law requires longer retention.

Browser-stored learning data remains on your device until you clear your browser's site data. Talkori cannot remove browser-stored data remotely.

We retain support inquiry and dispute-handling records for up to 3 years after resolution. We retain transaction, payment, and service-provision records for up to 5 years where required by applicable law.

Personal data stored electronically is deleted using methods designed to prevent ordinary recovery. Data retained by law is separated from active service data and used only for the legally required purpose until the retention period expires.

We apply technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing.

To exercise these rights, email support@talkori.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children

Talkori does not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child below that age, we will take appropriate steps to restrict the account and delete the information as required by applicable law.
